All Timber Doors Internal and External Supplied Installed and Finished
If you spend any time looking at the range of timber doors available often what can be confusing is the price variation. For any one style of door there is often more than one price point. This price variation can be due to any of the following
We suggest if you have a style in mind. Do not initially focus purely on the price. Call US to discuss and we will break down the options that are available for you to choose. We can source any door on the market today. Depending on your site conditions we will recommend a door that will suit your budget and be long lasting and durable.
An understanding should be made of the term 'SOLID' when it comes to timber doors.
The term solid is used to define both traditional and engineered doors. This at times can become confusing !
To explain, a traditional solid timber door is such that if the door is cut in half the timber material used throughout the door is consistent solid timber of the same species.
Engineered doors are also deemed solid timber. A solid engineered door differs from a traditional solid timber door in that the inner core of the door is 'engineered' . Covering this core in a thin door skin typically a timber veneer. Which gives the visual effect of solid timber.
Often looking at an engineered timber door over a traditional solid timber door it is difficult to see the difference. Often price will be the only determining factor.
The question many ask us, are engineered timber doors as durable and stable as a traditional timber door over time and in varying weather conditions ?
We have developed a method of finishing all doors regardless of the the weather conditions that will provide for a long lasting and durable product.
Think in terms of a timber boat, it is not only the type of timber used in the boat construction but the coatings applied to the timber that will protect the timber.
For exposed doors or doors with limited external cover. We highly recommend painting over staining or oiling the door. Our painting process involves marine grade timber sealers which when applied in combination with other coatings allow for a long lasting durable product in any environment.
For doors not exposed to the elements. Painting or staining/oiling can be provided for the door finish.
ALL doors we supply are also finished by us. In this way we can guarantee that the door will be long lasting and trouble free.
If you would like to just have a general chat about your options we are happy to discuss, please call David on 0407 200 069. We can cater for many different scenarios.
This information provides a starting point for us to discuss with you the options available. This information and a brief chat is all that is generally required to send a preliminary price. If this preliminary price is acceptable to you, we will then organise a site visit to confirm all site requirements and take accurate measurements so we can issue a formal quote.
The measurements from our site visit are used to prepare the doors prior to installation. The doors are all fully painted/stained over a period of time prior to the installation day.
